Zivogosce (Makarska Riviera)
Zivogosce lies on the southern part of the Markarska Riviera (20 km away from Makarska, 80 km from Split and 120 km from Dubrovnik). It is comprised of three smaller, non-coherent places on the coast: Porat - Mala Duba – Blato, and old hamlets along the old road.
Zivogosce has been inhabited since Illyrian and Roman times, to which Illyrian tombs on top of hill Suzina stand as witnesses. Also, villa Rustika in Mala Duba and Blato does the same. As a settlement, Zivogosce is for the first time mentioned in the mid 13th century. It gained its present form during the last 40's when a more significant tourism development in these areas begins.
Natural beauties of olive groves and pine woods hovering over small pebbled beaches that are 6 km long, clean and unpolluted sea, all in the foothill of a big mountain (hilltop Sutvid – 1155 m) and all giving tourists a special lure and pleasure of stay.

Zaostrog (Makarska Riviera)
Zaostrog is a tourist settlement on the Makarska Riviera,about 35 km from Makarska. The settlement was mentioned for the first time in 1494, but evidence was found that this area was inhabited during the late Stone Age.

The Zaostrog monastery has a museum that contains an ethnology collection, of rustic furniture and tool, as well as various examples of Croatian folk attire. The collection is registered as a cultural monument under state protection. The monastery gardens has been turned in to a botanical garden containing more than 250 plants, featuring: seven types of mimosa, five types of palms and maples, four types of eucalyptus, a Chinese jujube tree, Chinese currants, etc.
The Monastery also contains a picture gallery featuring one of the most famous living Croatian painters, Mladen Veža, born in Brist 1916.

Promajna (Makarska Riviera)

Promajna is a village on the Makarska Riviera, 6 km northwest of Makarska. A larger part of the village lies below the slopes of Biokovo Mountain, along the old coastal road. In recent times, due to the development of tourism, the village started to expand toward the coast. About 1 km northwest of the village is the Children's Village (Institute for Children Hydrotherapy).
