Biograd, formerly the coronation city of medieval Croatian kings, is today a modern tourist resort. The town and its surroundings have excellent hotels, a holiday village, motel, comfortable private accommodation and camps. Restaurants, wine cellars, pizzerias and snack-bars, newly opened cafes and cake shops, discos, dance terraces, cinemas and sports facilities will give you a pleasant and varied holiday. There are also modern shops and markets, various services and petrol pumps, a hospital, medical centre and harbour master's office. The regional museum has many interesting exhibits. Since Biograd na moru is on the threshold of the Kornati islands, it is an ideal harbour for boaters. Vransko jezero lake, only 7 km distant, attracts fishermen, and the Pašman Channel with its many forested islets is ideal for sailing and other water sports. Biograd na moru is near an airport (20 km), railway stations in Zadar and Benkovac (19 km), and has good bus connections.
