Bacina Lakes are a series of six picturesque lakes (Ocusa, Crnisevo, Podgora, Sladinac, Vrvnik and Plitko lakes) that lie in a rocky valley. The entire area of the lakes amount to some 20 square kilometers, and their depths range from 5 to 35 m. Situated just 2 km from the port city of Ploce and visible from the main coastal road, Bacina Lakes has become a frequent tourist destination. The abundant freshwater fish and untouched nature makes it one of the most spectacular sights in Croatia for nature-lovers and anglers.

Historic Ruins
On the locality of Sladinac are the remains of antique walls and mosaics belonging to the Roman habitation of Praetoria. The remains of an early Christian basilica from the 6th century have also been found here. A necropolis of stelae, mostly sarcophagi and slabs, have been found next to the ruins of the church of St. Andrew.

Canoe Safari
Easy canoeing trip is suitable for all: young couples, families, even grandfathers and grandchildren. You will quickly learn to paddle in canoes with two or three seats which are very stable and easy to row. No previous canoeing experience is needed and even 6-year old children can participate, with life jackets, of course, for all.

Marathon of traditional Neretvanien boats
This is a traditional boat race from Metkovic to Ploce (22.5 km). More than 30 boats with each boat having a 10 boatmen crew, a drummer, and skipper. Most of the participants are locals from the villages situated beside the Neretva River. The race is scheduled on the second Saturday in August.
